In today’s competitive and globalized world, having a professional and specialized education becomes imperative for future success.

Materials serve as the actual building blocks of a robust national economy. Materials have been the impetus for scientific and technological advancement throughout the development of human civilization as the cornerstone of a wide range of enterprises. Materials science and engineering have historically been guiding, permeable, and infrastructural; as a result, the degree of materials research, along with its educational level, also reflects the overall strength of a nation. The achievement of our department’s strategic goal of being a leader in the advancement of materials research and education to a level of world-class excellence is thus a crucial need.

Based on this goal, the guiding mission of the department (MatE KU) is to establish an internationally advanced-level platform including materials preparation, analysis & testing, eco materials, recycled products, green processes, alternative energy, electric vehicles, rail technology, energy storage, biomaterials, smart materials, and functional materials and to strengthen cooperation with relevant academic research areas in other countries.

Furthermore, the department has actively participated in relevant significant national research missions, as well as generated primary innovation within the national innovation system through the achievement of breakthroughs in vital materials research, methods, and devices, as well as major theoretical advancements and innovations.

At MatE KU, we are always striving to improve our programs to be at the forefront of higher education trends. Our objective is to achieve world-class accreditations to maintain excellent academic standards.
